Members and Supporters:
The Puget Sound Meat Producers Cooperative is now operational and has allowed Members to provide “Local Meats to Local Meals”. A number of Producer Members now have their meats at; local markets, farmer’s markets and restaurants.
With the support of the Pierce Conservation District, the USDA, our Members, and many others this achievement has been realized.
On January 31, 2010 the Annual Membership meeting was held. The Membership elected a number of new Directors, and a new group of Officers was chosen.
We are looking forward to new members to bring more Local Meats to the marketplace.
Currently the MMPU is operating in the Parkland area, with plans to be in the Rochester and Port Orchard areas in the coming weeks.
As a new Non-Profit Cooperative we have many challenges ahead. Our Members will drive the direction of this Cooperative.
